Fellowships Caltech Fellowships
The Institute offers a number of endowed fellowships to graduate students of exceptional ability who wish to pursue advanced study and research. Most of these fellowships are one-year awards that cover the first year of graduate study. Caltech does, however, have several multi-year fellowships, funded by a generous gift from Betty and Gordon Moore. In order to provide students with valuable teaching experience, the Moore Fellowship provides for its recipients to serve as a teaching assistant for three terms during the tenure of the award. Caltech also offers several other fellowships funded by generous donations from: Benjamin M. Rosen, Virginia Gilloon, William H. Pickering, Albert and Marguerite Ramond, and Henry and Grazyna A. Bauer.
Caltech encourages applicants to seek financial
support from outside sources. Attempts to do so will be viewed favorably
by the graduate option admission committees. Some of the most common
fellowships/scholarships available to U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents
are listed here. These fellowships
and grants require direct application to the granting agency. For additional
information concerning fellowship opportunities, please consult the Fellowships
Advising & Study
Abroad Office. Should you have any questions regarding student fellowships and the application process, please contact a Graduate Office staff member via the contact form.
