Caltech's 2014-15 United Way Campaign will run from October 10 through November 17.
Our campaign will begin with our Annual Family Night Kickoff on Friday, October 10. We are very pleased to be able to offer this fun-filled evening for Caltech & JPL families. We will be serving a pasta dinner on Beckman Mall from 4:30pm to 5:45pm. We will be screening the movie "How to Train Your Dragon 2" in Beckman Auditorium at 6:00pm. The dinner does not require tickets. The movie requires wristbands for anyone over 2 years of age. Wristbands will be disributed on Beckman Mall during the dinner on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Wednesday, October 22, we will have a new event called "Contribution Café" where you can come to San Pasqual Walk and make your contribution in person by check or payrolll deduction from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Come to contribute and stay for ice cream!

The United Way 5K HomeWalk is on Saturday, November 15 in Exposition Park. You can run or walk or be a virtual walker. More information to follow...
Caltech's Benefits Fair and Flu Shot Clinic will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, in Dabney Hall and the Garden of the Associates.
Meet representatives from our benefits carriers:

- Vision Service Plan (VSP)
- Delta Dental
- Aetna Student Health
- Child Education Center (CEC).
Members from the Caltech Benefits Office will be there to answer questions regarding your Annual Enrollment.
And of course there will be giveaways and raffle prizes!
Each year Caltech sponsors a fundraising campaign for the United Way of Greater L.A. Our website will go live on October 10th. United Way's focus in 2014-15 is Housing, Education & Jobs. Their goal is to provide housing for 8.000 homeless; guide 7,500 students to graduate high school; and place 1,200 Veterans into jobs!
You can designate the agencies you would like to donate to and you can elect to have payroll deductions or to send a one-time check. Your donations can also help support three campus organizations: The Child Educational Center/JPL, the Children's Center at Caltech and the Caltech Y. We end the campaign with the HomeWalk 5K Event for walkers and runners on November 15th at Exposition Park, featuring Kobe Bryant as the Honorary Chair!

Family Night Dinner and Movie for the Caltech and JPL community and their families will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10. This is the official Kick-Off of our United Way Campaign.
Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. on Beckman Mall. No tickets are required for the dinner. A Family movie will be screened at 6 p.m. in Beckman Auditorium. The Huntington Hospital Bloodmobile will be parked in the Winnett Quad from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 14, and Tuesday, July 15. Donors will receive $5 Coupons for Ernie's Truck! To schedule an appointment, please call 626-397-5796.
The Caltech community is participating in a drive in support of the Foothill Unity Center to provide back-to-school supplies for children of qualified families (low income & homeless). Drop-off boxes are in Human Resources & Keith Spalding lobbies.
Donations will be accepted from June 16th through July 15th. Suggested items are: New backpacks, 24ct crayons, single spiral notebooks, glue sticks, mechanical pencils, pencil sharpeners, 3-ring binders, filler paper (college & wide-ruled), calculators (regular & scientific), 12' rulers, and blue and black ball-point pens. Please deposit your items in the drop-off boxes Mon-Fri from 7:30am - 5:00pm.
