Hello and welcome to the California Institute of Technology Orientation website! This year's Graduate Orientation will take place on September 19-21, 2022, and will consist of both prerecorded information sessions, posted online in early September, as well as in-person presentations and activities during the week of September 19. Our hope is that you will find many opportunities to learn about Caltech and engage with your fellow classmates through the various planned social events.
Under the "Orientation Schedule" tab, you will find the schedule of all planned events. The "Orientation Modules" tab will bring you to a playlist of required informational videos about Caltech's many student resources. Please plan to view each video by the end of Orientation Week. Each of these videos will introduce you to a resource on campus, all with valuable information that will help you during your time at Caltech.
Again, welcome to Caltech! The Graduate Studies Office stands ready to support you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at email@example.com with questions about orientation or your graduate studies in general.
COVID-19 Protocols and Requirements
For in-person events and activities, Caltech aims to provide a safe and healthy environment for teaching and research. With these considerations in mind throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Caltech has complied with guidance from local, state, and federal entities and developed its own policies. Mask requirements for the Fall term will be announced by September 20, and currently high-quality masks (surgical, N95, KN95 or KF94) must be worn in all indoor locations on campus, including athletic facilities. Twice-weekly surveillance testing will continue to be required for all Caltech housing residents and those students participating in in-person instruction. Fall term instruction will return to in person in classrooms and lecture halls managed by the academic divisions and will no longer require reduction in the occupancy of our teaching spaces. Please review Caltech Together – Coronavirus Information: Resources and Support for the latest updates.
